History and Local History Museums
Bartholomew County Historical Society - The mission of the Bartholomew County Historical Society (BCHS) is to collect and preserve Bartholomew County artifacts, photographs, and documents. Through interpretive programs and displays, BCHS teaches the heritage of this region to enrich both present and future generations. Our goal is that we may know who we are today based on where we came from yesterday.
Education Programs - From programs here at BCHS to on-location outreach opportunities, we can fit your presentation needs on a variety of historical topics. All programs except the Hands-On History! can be done at your location in addition to here at the Historical Society.
Grade suggestion, program length, and group size are for recommendation purposes only and can be modified upon request. We will tailor educational programs to meet your needs and provide students with an optimal learning experience.

Crispus Attucks Museum - The Crispus Attucks on-line museum has been created by the University of Massachusetts History Club. We provide a wide range of media such as illustrations of landmarks and historical events as well as statistical data to support evidence. We want to create a unique scholarly source and enhance the availability of information to promote excellence in learning.
The on-line museum has collected and organized articles about the life of Crispus Attucks and his contribution to American history to be displayed in this cultural memorabilia. We celebrate the contribution of African Americans to American History and embrace and promote intercultural competence.

Friends of T. C. Steele State Historic Site
In 1907, noted Hoosier impressionist painter Theodore Clement Steele (1847-1926), became the first major artist to make a home in Brown County, Indiana. The picturesque landscape (and Steele’s prominence) drew in other artists, establishing the Art Colony of the Midwest.
Today, over 50 paintings on display in the Large Studio and House of the Singing Winds, provide a glimpse of southern Indiana as it appeared more than a century ago.
T. C. Steele State Historic Site keeps tradition alive year-round, through guided tours, art-related events and workshops led by contemporary artists.
